the present invention provides a microencapsulation system of essential oil of citrus mainly aimed at applications in the areas of food and pharmaceuticals, in which the main purpose is to protect the essential oil from environmental agents (light, moisture, oxygen), improving stability, increasing shelf life and facilitating handling and application. microencapsulated systems are obtained using freeze drying as a drying technique and using maltrodextrin and gelatin as encapsulating polymeric materials. more specifically, the microencapsulated system containing citrus essential oil of the present invention can be used as a raw material in the pharmaceutical field, in cleaning materials and in the food industry.a presente invenção propicia um sistema de microencapsulação de óleo essencial de citrus voltada principalmente para aplicações nas áreas de alimentos e farmacêutica, em que o principal intuito é proteger o óleo essencial de agentes ambientais (luz, umidade, oxigênio), melhorando a estabilidade, aumentando vida de prateleira e facilitando o manuseio e aplicação. os sistemas microencapsulados são obtidos empregando a liofilização como técnica de secagem e utilizando maltrodextrina e gelatina como materiais poliméricos encapsulantes. mais especificamente, o sistema microencapsulado contendo óleo essencial de citrus do presente invento pode ser utilizado como matéria-prima na área farmacêutica, em materiais de limpeza e na indústria de alimento.
