A set of defibrillator electrodes includes an adaptor-cable for connection with the set of electrodes, a pair of electrodes, each of which includes a protective layer, a metal layer, a gel layer, placed above the metal layer, and a dielectric detachable pad, covering the gel layer. The electrode cable electrically connects metal layers with an electrode connector, suitable for connection with the adaptor-cable. The electrodes are kept in a foil envelope until they are used with the electrode connector, connected with the adaptor-cable. The thickness of the layer of each electrode, located between the conducting layer of the electrode and the wall of the foil envelope, is selected in such a way that the capacitance, for which the said layer is dielectric, is not higher than the value, which in a combination with the capacitance of the set of electrodes without the foil envelope and the capacitance of the adaptor-cable, is not higher than the capacitance, indicating an asystole state for the defibrillator.
