The present invention relates to a swimming crab and long arm octopus trap. As tread-boards for capturing on upper and bottom parts of the trap, propped by a bent spring, are opened vertically or horizontally either by their own weight or adhesion when swimming crabs or long arm octopuses are lured into the trap, the crabs and octopuses are led into the trap without force. The trapped swimming crabs and octopuses inside a main body of the trap cannot escape the trap as the both tread-boards are closed by elasticity of the bent spring. Even though strong tidal current on the sea bottom or high tide while hauling the trap causes a dented part of the bent spring in the upper tread-board to bend, the trapped sea creatures still cannot escape the trap as the dented part meets the bottom tread-board and is bent. The trap is easy to attach and detach or repair as components of the trap are produced with synthetic resin by injection molding. The trap can be produced in large quantities and defective trap products are few. Increase in catch due to the use of improved fishing gears in season brings economic benefit to fishermen.
