An irrigating device (100) including a massage mode module in communicationwith amotor driving a pump (119). During a normal mode the pump has a first pulserate andduring massage mode the massage mode module provides a massage control signaltothe motor to cause the pump to have a second pulse rate. In other embodiments,thedisclosure includes an oral irrigator including a base (102) and a reservoir(104) removablyconnected to the base (102). The oral irrigator further includes a prow (103)operablyconnected to the base (102) and extending vertically upwards from the base(102). Theprow (103) may extend in a similar direction as sidewalls of the reservoir.The oral irrigatorfurther includes a lid (120) rotatably connected to the prow (103). The lid(120) rotatesbetween a first position where a fluid cavity of the reservoir (104) isexposed to a secondposition where the lid (120) covers at least a portion of the fluid cavity.
