Compositions and methods comprising a polyamine compound and a silver substance are described, which may be used to kill, disperse, treat, reduce biofilms, and/or inhibit or substantially prevent biofilm formation. The compositions and methods have antimicrobial activity and dispersing activity against a variety of planktonic bacteria and bacteria that are capable of forming biofilms.
