To effectively prevent the transmission of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and other similar diseases, a two-chamber, mobile electronic apparatus for detection of fever and cough which simultaneously disinfects humans from viruses, bacteria, and other organisms particularly but not limited to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is disclosed. Its two chambers are upright hollow rectangular boxes adjacent to each other, for persons to successively enter for detection and disinfection procedures. The apparatus is operated by supervisors stationed outside the chambers. The detection procedure begins in the first chamber (wet chamber), where a person's full body temperature is measured using a thermal camera while simultaneously analyzing sounds and breathing patterns through an array of microphones to respectively detect for fever and cough as symptoms of COVID-19 infection. The disinfection procedure then commences with the spraying of an alcohol or saltwater solution through the wet chamber's fog mist spraying unit for total body surface disinfection. Finally, the second chamber (dry chamber) provides additional total body surface disinfection through heat produced by an ozone generator. The combination of the features of the said apparatus is a technical solution to a problem in a field of human activity, particularly health and disinfection, which is new and industrially applicable. Such combination is also novel.
