PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body composition meter which enables the computation of an index pertaining to the body composition based on the lateral width of a belly part measured by enabling the simple and accurate measurement of the lateral width of the belly part.SOLUTION: A CPU 134 of the body composition meter 100 drives a navel position indicator part 118 to emit light and carries out a height adjusting processing. When the height adjustment of a frame 114 is done so that the navel of a person to be measured is irradiated with a light flux from the navel position indicator part 118, it measures the distances to measuring points from respective sensors to acquire the lateral width X of the belly part. Then, the CPU 134 acquires measured values of the physical weight W and the bioimpedance Z.
