PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve followability for acquiring an acoustic wave in the image data generation processing while maintaining accuracy of subject information as much as possible in a subject information acquisition device using an acoustic wave from a subject.SOLUTION: A subject information acquisition device includes a plurality of elements for receiving an acoustic wave generated from a subject irradiated with a light from a light source and outputting electric signals, a support body for the elements, a storage part for storing the electric signals in association with the elements, a selection part for selecting the electric signal output from a predetermined element, an information generation part for generating image data on the subject using the selected electric signal, and a display control part. A pulse light is radiated onto the subject a plurality of times.
