The invention relates to an auto-injector (1) for administering a dose of a liquid medicament (M), comprising: an elongate housing (2) arranged to contain a syringe (7) is slidably arranged with respect to the housing (2), spring means (14) capable of, upon activation, pushing the needle (9) from a covered position inside the housing (2) into an advanced position through the orifice and past the proximal end (P) as well as operating the syringe (7) to supply the dose of medicament (M), activating means (4) arranged to lock the spring means (14). The spring means (14) is a torsion spring. The activating means (4) is a trigger button (4), arranged at a distal end (D) of the housing (2) and operable by being pressed in proximal direction (P).Linvention se rapporte à un auto-injecteur (1) pour administrer une dose dun médicament liquide (M). Ledit injecteur automatique comprend : un boîtier allongé (2) agencé pour contenir une seringue (7) qui est agencée de façon à pouvoir coulisser par rapport au boîtier (2), un moyen formant ressort (14) qui peut, lors de lactivation, pousser laiguille (9) depuis une position couverte à lintérieur du boîtier (2) à une position avancée à travers lorifice et au-delà de lextrémité proximale (P) ainsi que faire fonctionner la seringue (7) afin de fournir la dose de médicament (M), un moyen dactivation (4) agencé pour verrouiller le moyen formant ressort (14). Le moyen formant ressort (14) est un ressort de torsion. Le moyen dactivation (4) est un bouton déclencheur (4) agencé au niveau dune extrémité distale (D) du boîtier (2) et destiné à être pressé dans la direction proximale (P).
