An apparatus includes a network interface and aprocessor. The network interface is configured tocommunicate over a communication network. The processor isconfigured to receive (i) data, including a medicalparameter acquired as a function of time, and (ii) aselection of one or more time intervals of interest withinthe time period. The processor is further configured tocompress a first portion of the data, which is within theselected time intervals, at a first resolution, andcompress a second portion of the data, which is outside theselected time intervals, at a second resolution, which iscoarser than the first resolution. The processor isadditionally configured to transmit the compressed firstand second portions of the data, via the network interface,over the communication network.
