The present invention relates, in part, to processing, tracking, and aligning angiographic images and elements within the images with respect to images from intravascular imaging modalities such as optical coherence tomography (OCT). Registration between the imaging modalities is facilitated by tracking the markers of the intravascular imaging probe performed on the angiographic image obtained during pullback. Further, in one embodiment, continuous registration between OCT and angiographic images is performed using vessel centerline detection and tracking.
