The purpose of the present invention is to provide an apparatus and a method to measure body fat capable of connecting to an audio input/output port of a host apparatus. According to the embodiments of the present invention, the apparatus to measure body fat comprises: a connector including a first and a second input terminal, an output terminal, and a ground terminal, capable of connecting an audio input/output port of a host apparatus； a first and a second contact terminal formed to contact with a skin of a measured person to individually apply a first and a second operating signal received from the host apparatus via the first and the second input terminal to a first and a second body part of the measured person； and a first and a second measuring terminal formed to contact with the skin to extract a voltage signal between the first and the second body part in which the first and the second operating signal are applied. The extracted voltage signal is provided to the host apparatus via the output terminal.본 발명의 실시예들에 따른 체지방 측정기는 제1 및 제2 입력 단자들, 출력 단자 및 접지 단자를 가지고, 호스트 장치의 오디오 입출력 포트에 연결 가능한 커넥터, 제1 및 제2 입력 단자들을 통해 호스트 장치로부터 수신한 제1 및 제2 구동 신호들이 피측정자의 제1 및 제2 신체 부위들에 각각 인가되도록 피측정자의 피부에 접촉할 수 있는 형태로 형성되는 제1 및 제2 접촉 단자들, 및 제1 및 제2 구동 신호들이 인가된 제1 및 제2 신체 부위들 사이의 전압 신호를 추출할 수 있도록 피부에 접촉할 수 있는 형태로 형성되는 제1 및 제2 측정 단자들을 포함하고, 추출된 전압 신호는 출력 단자를 통해 호스트 장치에 제공된다.
