PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a movement assisting device capable of appropriately assisting the movement of a person.
SOLUTION: The movement assisting device includes an actuator for applying torque to the specified joint of a person, a storage unit, a sensor, and a controller for controlling the actuator. The sensor measures the movement pattern of a predetermined fixed part of the person. The storage unit stores a first movement pattern group describing each of the different movement patterns of the fixed part. Further, the storage unit stores target angle patterns for achieving each of the different second movement pattern group of the specified joint in association with each of the first movement pattern group. The controller selects the first movement pattern closest to the measured movement pattern from the first movement pattern group. The controller further controls the actuator so as to make the angle of the specified joint follow the target angle pattern associated with the selected first movement pattern.
