Pancreatic digestive enzyme preparations are disclosed comprising protease, amylase and lipase enzymes, wherein said preparations are derived from a porcine pancreas and have a protease activity of not less than 25 U.S.P. units/mg, an amylase activity of not less than 25 U.S.P. units/mg, a lipase activity of not less than 2 U.S.P. units/mg, no more than 6% fat, no more than 5% loss on drying and where the composition is also negative for E.coli and Salmonella , whereby said composition has a protease activity of not less than 156 U.S.P. units/mg. The preparations are used to treat persons having ADD, ADHD, autism, cystic fibrosis and other behavioral and neurological disorders and preferably take the form of particles coated with an emulsifiable lipid.
