PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating a patient who is in need of an antiplatelet agent and does not have symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding or a gastrointestinal ulcer.SOLUTION: The method comprises orally administering to the patient a unit dosage form comprising an effective amount of an antiplatelet agent to inhibit platelet aggregation and an effective amount of a proton pump inhibitor to reduce the risk of developing a gastrointestinal disorder associated with the antiplatelet agent.
