ABSTRACT Portable Bacteria Diagnostic Device to test Cows milk Cows milk from diseased animals is an unhealthy fluid that contains a wide range of dangerous and disease-causing substances that have a cumulative negative effect on all who consume it. It is known that people are prone to the diseases caused by milk such as Q-fever, Chronhs disease and Listeria. The bacteria that contaminates the milk that causes the above three disease are heat resistant and cannot be destroyed by pasteurization. The only way is to detect the presence of bacteria causing the disease and avoid using that milk. The practice of mixing the milks of different cows is still undertaken in almost all the milk societies. Even if the milk of any one of the cows is infected, then while mixing, the entire milk in the society gets contaminated. In order to prevent such situations this idea has been considered as an effective method. Somatic cells in milk are primarily white blood cells (leukocytes). When bacteria infect, the cows immune system responds to fight the infection by increasing the number of somatic cells present in the milk. A small amount of about 100ml of milk in taken and 9volt of DC supply is passed across the milk, if milk is infected then somatic cell concentration would also be higher and this would result in high electrical conductivity than normal milk. Hence we could come to a primary conclusion of milk being infected and comparing it with normal milk conductivity we can figure out the degree of infection of the milk and this could be the primary factor to test cows milk.
