When a predetermined length of the implant exits the delivery catheter, a delivery device is provided that can be used to automatically deliver an inverted implant including a position adjustment mechanism that initiates the inversion process. The position adjustment mechanism allows the implant to be safely and accurately deployed at more different target locations even when the practitioner has little experience. In one embodiment, a method is provided for acting on an implant during delivery, the method comprising advancing the implant to a target delivery site using a delivery catheter, the implant being removed from the delivery catheter by at least one tether And activating a mechanism that alters the length position of at least a portion of the implant relative to at least one component of the delivery catheter.
