To provide an Achilles tendon's width measurement method for objectively determining Achilles tendon hyperplasia caused by FH from an X-ray image.SOLUTION: An Achilles tendon's width measurement method includes: an image measurement step of making an X-ray be incident on the center of a shinbone medial malleolus rear edge to acquire image data on an X-ray image 30 in which a shinbone 33 extends upward from a heel bone 32； and an image measurement step of performing image measurement on an Achilles tendon 39's width at a height higher than the heel bone 32 by a predetermined length from the X-ray image 30. The image measurement step includes: previously determining a range line L2, a part of a linear line extending upward from an outer edge of the heel bone 32 whose shape is recognized； determining a reference point P inside the Achilles tendon 39 in the acquired X-ray image 30 before determining that a linear line extending in right and left directions from the reference point P is taken as a measurement line HL when the linear line and the range line L2 cross each other； and, after that, performing image measurement on the Achilles tendon 39's width from a length corresponding to contrast inflection points positioned on both sides of the reference point P along the determined measurement line HL.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5【課題】Ｘ線画像からＦＨによるアキレス腱肥厚の客観的な判定を与えるためのアキレス腱幅の計測方法を提供する。【解決手段】脛骨内果後縁中心にＸ線を入射させて、踵骨３２から上方に向けて脛骨３３の延びるＸ線画像３０の画像データを得る画像データ取得ステップと、この踵骨３２よりも所定上方でのアキレス腱３９幅をＸ線画像３０から画像計測する画像計測ステップと、を含み、画像計測ステップは、形状認識される踵骨３２の外縁から上方に向けた直線の一部である範囲線Ｌ２を決定しておき、取得されたＸ線画像３０内のアキレス腱３９の内部に基準点Ｐを決定した後、この基準点Ｐから左右方向に延びる直線において範囲線Ｌ２と交叉する直線を計測線ＨＬに決定し、その後、決定した計測線ＨＬに沿って基準点Ｐの両側に位置するコントラストの変位点に対応する長さからアキレス腱３９幅を画像計測する。【選択図】図５
