Disclosed are compounds of formula (I) where A is a heterobicyclic moiety (also pictured), and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Specific examples of compounds of formula (I) are Trans { 4-[4-(7-amino-3-phenylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-6-yl)phenyl]cyclohexyl} acetic acid, Trans { 4-[4-(7-amino-2-thien-2-ylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-6-yl)phenyl]cyclohexyl} acetic acid, and Trans { 4-[4-(7-amino-2-cyclopropylpyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-6-yl)phenyI]cyclohexyl} acetic acid. Also disclosed is the use of compounds of formula (I) as pharmaceutical compositions for treating type 2 diabetes, obesity, elevated plasma triglycerides, metabolic syndrome, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
