PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding device capable of holding a medium member or a plant without damaging.SOLUTION: The holding device includes: a contact/separation drive part 2； a pair of flexible pieces 11 and 11； a pair of holding parts 12 and 12； a pair of holding parts 13 and 13； and a medium member M. The contact/separation drive part 2 causes the pair of flexible pieces 11 and 11 arranged opposite to each other to contact with/separate from each other. Parts facing the flexible pieces 11 and 11 are provided with the pair of holding parts 12 and 12 and the pair of holding parts 13 and 13. When the flexible pieces 11 and 11 are separated from each other, the holding parts 12 and 12 are separated from each other, and the holding parts 13 and 13 are separated from each other. The rectangular block-shaped medium member M is held between the flat holding parts 12 and 12 when the flexible pieces 11 and 11 are approached to each other. At that time, the flexible pieces 11 and 11 are sagged in the separating direction by a reaction force from the medium member M. Thus, it is suppressed that an excessively large external force is applied to the medium member M. A stem of a plant to be reaped is held between the concave holding parts 13 and 13 and cut in a cutting part.【課題】培地部材又は植物等を傷つけずに挟持することができる挟持装置を提供する。【解決手段】接離駆動部２は、対向配置された１組の可撓片１１，１１を接離させる。可撓片１１，１１の対向部には、各１組の挟持部１２，１２及び挟持部１３，１３が設けられている。可撓片１１，１１の接離に伴って、挟持部１２，１２及び挟持部１３，１３夫々も接離する。矩形ブロック状の培地部材Ｍは、可撓片１１，１１が接近した場合に、平板状の挟持部１２，１２の間にて挟持される。このとき、培地部材Ｍからの反力によって、可撓片１１，１１は背離方向に撓む。故に、培地部材Ｍに対して過剰に大きい外力が加わることが抑制される。刈り入れるべき植物の茎は、凹状の挟持部１３，１３の間にて挟持され、切断部で切断される。【選択図】図５
