The present invention relates to a novel form of crystalline minocycline base. In particular, it provides two new crystalline polymorphs referred to as Form IV and Form V of minocycline base. These are characterized by XRD, FTIR, and TGA. Also provided are methods for the production of the novel polymorphs and their use in pharmaceutical compositions.
