The device has a housing (1) for receiving a dental floss dispenser (4). Guide arms (2, 3) transport a dental floss (41) of the dispenser. Conveying modules (21, 31) convey the floss through one of the arms in a direction of the other arm. Gripping units i.e. tongs, for receiving and fixing the dental floss are arranged in the latter arm. The conveying modules include two rollers (22), which are pressable against each other and arranged on both sides of the floss. One of the rollers is drivable such that the conveying modules are displaceable on horizontal and vertical axes.
