The invention relates to a brain energy modulating compound for use in:(a) a method for treating a cognitive dysfunction in a subject, which method comprises administering an effective amount of the brain energy modulating compound such that said cognitive dysfunction is treated or(b) a method for treating a cognitive dysfunction in a subject by modulating the subjects brain pH such that the cognitive dysfunction is treated or(c) a method for treating creatine transport dysfunction in a subject, which method comprises administering an effective amount of said brain energy modulating compound such that said cognitive dysfunction is treated.
