The retrieval device has a contracted state and an expanded state. The retrieval device includes a sheath and at least three support members. Each of the support members has a first portion having a first cross-sectional shape and a second portion having a second cross-sectional shape different from the first cross-sectional shape. Each fixed proximal end of the support member is coupled to the sheath and the distal end is movable relative to the sheath. The retrieval device further includes at least three movable members that are movable relative to the support member.
