PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a VLP platform technology that allows for production of VLPs containing any type of antigen, including viral antigens which do not naturally associate with a lipid raft, antigens from viruses other than the source of the capsid protein, antigens from other pathogens, such as bacteria, fungus, protozoa, helminth, yeast, etc., tumor antigens, and allergens.SOLUTION: Chimeric virus-like particles including gag polypeptides are generated from a gag polypeptide and lipid raft-associated polypeptide linked to an antigen.
