A low temperature storage system (100, 300, 400) includes a cabinet housing (102, 302) and a drawer (104) that is slidable in and out of the cabinet housing (102, 302). The drawer (104) includes an interior wall and an exterior wall defining an insular space therebetween and a support grid (124) disposed within an interior region defined by the interior wall of the drawer (104). The support grid (124) defines multiple receptacles (406) arranged in a matrix configuration and respectively sized to receive a storage carrier. The drawer (104) further includes first markings and second markings printed on the drawer (104) in a manner such that any one of the first markings and any one of the second markings together correspond to one of the multiple receptacles (406) arranged in the matrix configuration.
