PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system acquiring two or more kinds of images at the same time from a plurality of kinds of images taken by the irradiation with light rays different in wavelength band to display them at the same time.SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope system includes: a combination indication means for indicating a combination of a plurality of the images acquired at the same time from a plurality of kinds of images taken by the irradiation with one or more light rays different in wavelength band a plurality of light sources for emitting light rays different in wavelength band a light source control means for controlling the emission of the light sources corresponding to the combination of the images indicated by the combination indication means an imaging element for receiving the reflected light rays of the light rays emitted from the light sources to irradiate the subject tissue containing a blood vessel in the body cavity to photoelectrically converting the same to the image data of a plurality of wavelength bands an image forming means for forming a plurality of the images corresponding to the combination of the images indicated by the combination indication means from the image data of a plurality of the wavelength bands photoelectrically converted by the imaging element and an image display means for displaying a plurality of the images formed by the image forming means at the same time.
