PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide acid resistant band solutions for banding two-piece hard capsules, and to provide methods of using such capsules for orally administering pharmaceuticals, animal drugs, foods, and supplements to a human or an animal.SOLUTION: Provided is an acid resistant band composition for two-piece hard capsules comprising: a shellac in an amount ranging from about 10 to about 60 wt.%, preferably from about 20 to about 45 wt.% with respect to the total weight of the composition； at least one alcohol in an amount ranging from about 15 to about 70 wt.% with respect to the total weight of the composition； at least one surfactant in an amount of ranging from about 0.1 to about 5 wt.% with respect to the total weight of the composition； and rosin in an amount less than about 20 wt.% with respect to the total weight of the composition.
