PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a porous body of an apatite/collagen composite in which pore diameters and pore shapes are uniform over the whole porous body.
SOLUTION: The porous body of the apatite/collagen composite is manufactured by gelatinizing the dispersion including the apatite/collagen composite fiber, collagen and water, then freezing and drying the obtained gel to form a porous body, and crosslinking the collagen in the porous body. In the method for manufacturing porous body, the gel is frozen inside a cylindrical container so that the ratio of the height to the diameter of the frozen body (height/diameter) is 0.1-0.5.
