A method of providing a user with a filtered image of a computer-based design, the method includes the steps of: storing, in a location accessible by a central host, master data representing the design； identifying view data corresponding to a portion of the master data representing a portion of the design to be viewed by a user； applying a filter to the view data to generate filtered view data； receiving the filtered view data at a display component of a viewer； displaying an image of the design corresponding to the filtered view data using the display component of the viewer.La présente invention concerne un procédé permettant de fournir à un utilisateur une image filtrée d'une conception à base d'ordinateur. Ledit procédé inclut les étapes consistant à : stocker, dans un emplacement accessible par un hôte central, des données maître représentant la conception ； identifier des données de vue correspondant à une partie des données maître représentant une partie de la conception à visualiser par l'utilisateur ； appliquer un filtre pour les données de vue pour générer des données de vue filtrées ； recevoir les données de vue filtrée au niveau d'un composant d'affichage d'un dispositif de visualisation ； afficher une image de la conception correspondant aux données de vue filtrées à l'aide du composant d'affichage du dispositif de visualisation.
