PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel therapeutic method that enables treatment and/or prevention of skin aging, lichen planus, graft vs. host disease (GVH), eczema, psoriasis and cancer, in particular an epithelial cancer, particularly an epithelial skin cancer, of basocellular type, or of spinocellular type.SOLUTION: The invention provides a method for using an effective amount of at least one substance that modulates expression and/or activity of LOX protein of a specified sequence and/or modulates expression and/or activity of NRAGE protein of a specified sequence, for making a composition for modulating the interaction between LOX protein and NRAGE protein so as to regulate the balance between cellular phenomena, growth, differentiation and apoptosis, where the substance restores normal co-expression of and interaction between LOX protein and NRAGE protein.
