PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formaldehyde sterilization indicator which can be used both in formaldehyde sterilization treatment and LTSF sterilization treatment to accurately detect completion of sterilization and indicate it by change in color, and which does not require refrigerated storage and transport and can be manufactured easily at low cost and high yield.SOLUTION: A formaldehyde sterilization indicator contains a color-changing component comprised of a naphtholsulfonic acid containing an intramolecular non-hydrogen-bonding naphthol hydroxyl group, and is adapted to change color when brought into contact with either a formaldehyde gas or formaldehyde-containing water vapor to indicate completion of sterilization.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT【課題】ホルムアルデヒドガス滅菌処理とLTSF滅菌処理とのいずれの滅菌処理においても変色によって滅菌完了時を正確に検知して表示でき、冷蔵保管・冷蔵輸送が不要で、簡便かつ安価に歩留り良く製造できるホルムアルデヒド滅菌インジケータを提供する。【解決手段】ホルムアルデヒド滅菌インジケータは、分子内非水素結合性ナフトール水酸基を含有するナフトールスルホン酸類からなる変色成分を含み、ホルムアルデヒドガス及びホルムアルデヒド含有水蒸気のいずれとの接触によっても変色して滅菌完了を表示するものである。【選択図】図1
