The present invention relates to a pre-filled injection device for assigning multiple set doses of solution. The housing of the injection device supports a non-replaceable cartridge containing the liquid agent. The cartridge is fixed to, for example, a cartridge holder that is a part of the housing. A needle assembly comprising a needle cannula secured to the hub is slidably mounted so as to slide into contact with the cartridge. The tip of the needle cannula is covered by a telescopically movable shield that is movable from the deployed position to the retracted position. The telescoping movable shield supports a cleaning chamber that includes a cleaning solvent for cleaning at least the distal tip of the needle cannula between subsequent injections. The distal end of the housing supports a removable protective cap, and a telescoping movable shield is guided relative to the housing and coupled to the protective cap to follow the movement of the protective cap.
