A method and apparatus for releasing aroma from a beverage container for enhancing or complementing the aroma of the beverage in the container is disclosed. In a general embodiment, the beverage container (2) comprises a pull tab (8) and a substance (20) to be added to the pull tab. Substances include microencapsulated aromas.
