A system is provided. The system includes an electrosurgical generatorconfigured tomeasure, collect and record data pertaining to a characteristic of tissue asthe tissue is beingelectrosurgically treated. A tuner configured to couple to the electrosurgicalgenerator includes atuning circuit providing a load having a variable complex impedance for theelectrosurgicalgenerator when the electrosurgical generator is connected thereto. Acontroller including storeddata pertaining to impedance values is in operable communication with theelectrosurgicalgenerator for retrieving the recorded data pertaining to the characteristic oftissue. The controlleris in operable communication with the tuner for varying a complex impedance ofthe load. Thecontroller configured to compare the recorded data pertaining to the at leastone characteristic oftissue with the stored data pertaining to the plurality of impedance valuesand to adjust the tunerto one of the plurality of impedance values.
