The camera stand can include a housing surrounding the camera and one or more light sources therein. Accordingly, the camera and light source may be directed at the medical dose preparation staging area to capture a medical dose preparation image of the medical dose preparation staging area. The camera stand can include an adjustable support that can be positioned in a plurality of positions for positioning the camera and light source relative to the medical dose preparation staging area. A base having a removable tray may be provided that includes a medical container engagement mechanism.
