PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the concavities and convexes formed on the surface of a stem resistible to the shearing force acting on the interface in the axial and rotational directions for enhancing the stems initial fixation strength and also improving easiness to draw out the stem in another operation.SOLUTION: Projections 11 are formed over the surface of a stem 1 to prevent the stem from sinking down or lateral turning within a punched hole 4 of the artificial hip joint. On the diaphysis region 7s side of the projection, there is a pressing part 15 with a seating face 17 that pushes a spongy bone 3 existing at the inner wall of the punched hole toward the diaphysis region 7 for preventing the sink-down of the stem 1 toward the diaphysis region. When an inclined ridge line 23 connecting the pressing part end to the point on the base face 22 of projection 11 located closest to an epiphysis region 6 is formed to thrust the projection side face 24 including the ridge line as its side into the spongy bone 3, the projection side forms a resistant face 16 to control the rotational movements of the stem.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】ステムの表面に施す凹凸を界面における軸方向および回旋方向に働くせん断力に対応できるようにして、ステムの初期固定性が高められるようにする。また、再手術時の引き抜き性も向上させる。【解決手段】ステム1の表面には、窄孔4内での沈み込みや回旋方向の動きを抑制するための突起11が形成される。その突起の骨幹領域7の側には、窄孔内壁に存在する海綿質骨3を骨幹領域7に向けて押し込み、ステム1の骨幹領域方向への沈み込みを抑える着座面17を持った押圧部15が形成される。そして、押圧部先端と突起11の基盤面22上最も骨端領域6の側の位置とを結ぶ傾斜した稜線23を作り、その稜線を一辺として含む突起側面24を窄孔内壁に存在する海綿質骨3に割り込ませると、突起側面は回旋方向の動きを抑える抵抗面16を形成するようになる。【選択図】図1
