The present invention provides an efficient and simple method for isolating 9-oxo-10E, 12E-octadecadienoic acid methyl ester (9-KODE methyl ester) from Kawaratake. In addition, the present invention also provides therapeutic use of Agaricum extract, biologically active chemical components isolated from Agaricum, and 9-KODE methyl esters and related compounds.
