PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial composition for use in a locking catheter and other devices.SOLUTION: An antimicrobial composition for a locking solution of a catheter includes 0.1-2 wt.% of at least one poloxamer, at least 10 wt.% of at least one alcohol, on the basis of the total weight of the antimicrobial composition, and at least one biocidal agent other than an alcohol, and an additive selected from a group consisting of an anticoagulant, saline, water and combinations thereof, wherein at least one poloxamer is only one polymer material in the antimicrobial composition.
