The present invention is directed to a composition of matter, in particular afood composition, dietary or food supplementation, and pharmaceuticalcomposition, respectively. The composition of matter reduces the risk ofneuropathy, neurodegenerative diseases including late-onset Alzheimer~sdisease, and cancer, in particular of pancreatic, esophageal,oropharyngolaryngeal, liver, colorectal, lung and/or breast cancer, inparticular the drug and/or alcohol induced risk of said diseases. In thisrespect, the present invention is also directed to a composition of matter, inparticular a food composition, dietary or food supplementation, andpharmaceutical composition, respectively, which supports and/or moderates thealcohol degradation process within the human body.
