The invention provides a composition suitable for topical skin application comprising isolated queen bee venom. The queen bee venom has been found to be significantly superior for treating skin conditions relative to the normal bee venom. Therefore the invention also provides a method of treatment or prevention of a skin condition, comprising the topical application of the composition onto the skin of a subject afflicted with the skin condition, or at risk of being afflicted with the skin condition.
