PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scintillator and radiation detector using the same capable of performing precise photon counting of a radiation.SOLUTION: The radiation detector includes: a scintillator layer 70 that emits scintillator photon corresponding to entering radiation and a radiation absorption layer 81 which is formed opposing to a detection plane of a detection element 40 formed by laminating over the scintillator layer to detect scintillator photon.
