The present invention relates to compositions and methods for increasing tissue-radiosensitivity through induction of local hyperthermia. In particular, the present invention provides superparamagnetic, paramagnetic, or ferromagnetic radioactive particles that heat surrounding tissue upon magnetic induction, and methods of use thereof.
