Devices, systems and methods are disclosed for filtering medical device noise artifacts from cyclic waveform signals. Cyclic pressure is measured and converted from time domain to frequency domain for analysis to determine patient status. To avoid the artifacts of pumping, the time-domain measurements are filtered to remove the active pumping period, thereby generating a filtered time-domain signal. The filtered time-domain signal is converted to a frequency-domain signal, which is analyzed based on peaks indicative of its respiratory rate, heart rate, or harmonics. The peaks can be adjusted based on the ratio to account for the removed signals. Then, the metric of the patient condition is determined from the peaks or corresponding frequencies.
