PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus in which a coordinate indicating a position of an acquired image and a vector indicating a direction of the image are set with respect to the same coordinate axis for each subject, without reference to a direction of the subject and without making an operator specify the direction of the subject before imaging.SOLUTION: Image data corrected by a coordinate axis constantly establishing a certain relationship with a direction and a position of a subject's body are created on the basis of a new coordinate axis calculated in accordance with a tomographic imaging surface of an object region or a coordinate axis designated by an operator, when the tomographic imaging surface is determined by automatic positioning.【課題】被検体の向きによらず、操作者が撮像前に被検体の向きを指定することなく、被検体ごとの同じ座標軸に対して、取得した画像の位置を示す座標と画像の向きを示すベクトルとが設定される医用画像診断装置を提供する。【解決手段】自動位置決めで対象部位の断層撮像面が決まったら、その撮像面に合わせて算出した新たな座標軸、もしくは、操作者が指定した座標軸に基づき、常に被検者の体の向きと位置に対して一定の関係となる座標軸に補正された画像データを作成する。【選択図】図３
