PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for aeration drying of root crops, which eliminates the need of manually covering with a sheet or visually making sure of aeration from the sheet, and which makes efficient drying possible in the occurrence of odd quantity.SOLUTION: Root crops are housed in a plurality of storage containers 10, with the plurality of storage containers 10 piled up in multiple steps and multiple rows in a storage chamber 4 to form an accumulation of the storage containers 10. The side wall surfaces of the accumulation of the storage containers 10 are covered with non-air-permeable walls 11, 17, 17, 25, with the inward space made a drying wind-tunnel K capable of vertical aeration to perform aeration drying, in the method of aeration drying of root crops.
