According to the method and apparatus for processing a surgical image through an event index according to an embodiment of the present invention, by generating index information and an index image of a specific event time point occurring in a surgery process, a specific event time point the surgical image is searched and the index image corresponding to the time point can be checked quickly.본 발명은 수술 영상의 처리 방법에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는 수술 과정 중에 특정 이벤트가 발생하는 경우에 인덱스 정보를 생성하고, 이벤트 발생 시점의 인덱스 영상을 생성함으로써, 이벤트 발생 시점의 수술 영상을 검색 및 확인할 수 있는 수술 영상 처리 방법 및 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 이벤트 인덱스를 통한 수술 영상 처리 방법 및 장치에 따르면, 수술 과정에서 발생하는 특정 이벤트 시점에 대한 인덱스 정보와 인덱스 영상을 생성함으로써, 수술 영상 내의 특정 이벤트 시점을 검색하고 해당 시점의 인덱스 영상을 빠르게 확인할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
