PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of enhancing air purification efficiency without increasing air blowing quantity.SOLUTION: When enhancing air purification performance by increasing ion discharge quantity or when enhancing the air purification performance by increasing an air circulation speed in a room, a louver 7 attached on a terminal of an air feed chamber 13 is stopped on a predetermined rotation position without increasing air flow of a blower fan and is controlled so that an aperture area of an air blowing port 18 formed by a wall surface 13a of the air feed chamber 13 and an opposite surface 70b of the louver 7. By reducing the aperture area of an air blowing port 18, air velocity is increased and ion discharge quantity and air circulation speed can be enhanced.
