PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus configured to compensate for optical aberration.SOLUTION: A method, an apparatus, and a system are provided for obtaining data for at least one portion within a luminal or hollow sample. The method, system or apparatus can be insertable via the mouth or the nose of a patient. For example, a first optical configuration section can be configured to transceive electromagnetic radiation to and from the portion. A second configuration section may be provided at least partially enclosing the first optical configuration section. Further, a third configuration section can be configured to be actuated so as to position the first optical configuration section at a predetermined position within the luminal or hollow sample. The first optical configuration section may be configured to compensate for aberration (e.g., astigmatism) caused by the second configuration section or the third configuration section. The second configuration section can include one or more portions which enable a guiding configuration section to be inserted therethrough.
