The device includes a body, a shaft assembly, a deflection control actuating assembly, and an expansion catheter. The shaft assembly has a rigid proximal portion and a flexible distal portion. The deflection actuating assembly includes a rotary actuator and a first linearly actuable actuating member that is at least partially located within the first rotary actuator. A second linear activator extends through the shaft assembly and connects the first linear actuator to the flexible distal portion of the shaft assembly. The first rotary actuator drives the first and second linearly movable actuating members in the longitudinal direction by being rotatable about the longitudinal axis. The flexible distal portion is configured to deflect away from the longitudinal axis in response to longitudinal linear motion of the first and second linearly movable actuating members.
